Juliette D’Ambrosio ‘09 Joins the Immaculate Heart Academy Softball Program This Spring

Washington Township, N.J. – IHA alumnae 2009 and recent graduate of St. Joseph’s University,  Juliette D’Ambrosio will continue her softball career this spring as she joins the Immaculate Heart Academy coaching staff.  

D’Ambrosio will serve as the freshman softball coach under Varsity Head Coach Anthony LaRezza. “It makes me happy to have Juliette come back to coach. She will be a great addition to our program,” explained LaRezza.

Juliette completed her studies at SJU in 2013 with bachelors of Psychology degree.  Juliette brings a passion for softball to Immaculate Heart Academy.  She will guide and mentor young players drawing on her experience while at IHA, St. Joseph’s, and coaching for 18u Akadema Elite.

“It’s a privilege and honor to be asked to coach the freshman team at IHA. It was always a dream of mine to play at IHA so it is an unbelievable opportunity to continue this dream as an IHA coach. Having been guided and taught by such amazing and knowledgeable coaches, I can only hope to live up to their expectations and create an environment to continue to aide to what IHA softball is and always had been, “stated D’Ambrosio.

On the field, Juliette is a three-time All-Northern New Jersey Interscholastic League honoree (‘07/’08/’09), earning All-Bergen County Honorable Mention as a senior at Immaculate Heart Academy (Washington Township), after batting .325 with 17 RBI and a .991 fielding percentage.  She led Immaculate Heart Academy to two NNJIL and North Non-Public A State Sectional titles and guided her team to the 2009 New Jersey Non-Public A state title, playing catcher and third base.  While at IHA, she earned a letter playing 3 years on varsity from 2007-2009.  Following her playing years at IHA, Juliette went on to play at Saint Joseph’s University (Pennsylvania) from 2009-2013 and appeared in the Atlantic 10 tournament all four years. As a team, SJU were the runners up in Atlantic 10 championships 2011 and 2013.  In 2013 SJU were the regular season champions.
